Greg Tucker took up his position has Chair of Claims Funding Australia in 2017. He is an Australian Institute of Company Directors Fellow and holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Laws degrees from Monash University.
Greg had a long career with CFA parent company Maurice Blackburn, as CEO for 12 years during a time of unprecedented growth at the firm. He was the first non-executive director appointed to the Maurice Blackburn board in 2004. Greg brings a unique combination of academic research experience, knowledge of financial markets as well as a passion for the law to his leadership role at CFA. Greg’s broad legal and business experience means he is ideally placed to make sound decisions regarding the cases CFA funds.
After starting his legal career in commercial law at Darvall McCutcheon Greg spent some time at Maurice Blackburn & Co as a consultant in the late 1980s before becoming Professor and Head of the Banking and Finance Department at Monash University. During his time at Monash, Greg took a two-year sabbatical to work as a research consultant at the OECD in Paris producing official reports on privacy, information security, and electronic commerce. He is also the author of several books and many academic journal articles.
Greg has also worked in the financial services sector as a senior bank analyst for ANZ McCaughans and then as CEO of the listed stockbrokers and financial planners Noall Group. He has also been a director of Mornington Peninsula Hospital and a geo-spatial science company, Natural Resource Systems.
Greg’s aim for CFA is to grow the business to become the pre-eminent litigation claims funder for liquidators and companies from SMEs and start-ups to ASX-listed companies.
